President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, insisted that rather than providing Forex for import, he would empower local farmers and producers.
He added that there are able-bodied people who are willing to work and “agriculture is the answer”.
The president wrote;
“I am restating it that nobody importing food or fertilizer should be given foreign exchange from the Central Bank. We will not pay a kobo of our foreign reserves to import food or fertilizer. We will instead empower local farmers and producers.
We have a lot of able-bodied young people willing to work, and agriculture is the answer.”
Reacting to this statement made by Mr. President, a Nigerian Twitter user with the twitter handle, @Intergrity56 also pointed out that his son, Yusuf Buhari is also an able-bodied man. He wrote;
“Yusuf is also an able-bodied young man.”
