WHO, Africa CDC Launch COVID-19 Laboratories Network

The World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with the Africa Centres for Disease Control (CDC) have recently, launched a new laboratory network that will help to prepare better responses in public health to the issue of Coronavirus in Africa.

Experts from the WHO and the Africa CDC share a belief that the move will help African countries understand the different strains of the SARS-Cov-2 virus.

A total number of twelve specialised laboratories will join the network in Africa. This is coming after the Africa CDC had said that the early reports were showing that the COVID-19 curve was flattening in Africa.
