7 Dies From Explosion At Benin River Valve Station- NNPC


 An explosion leading to the death of seven people on Tuesday 7, July has been reported by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

The incident took place at the Gbetiokun OML 40 which is operated by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), on behalf of the NPDC/Elcrest Joint Venture.

A statement release by the NNPC stated that a detailed investigation on the cause of the explosion is being done, while the Department of Petroleum Resources on the other hand has been duly notified.

The bodies of the victims have been deposited in a morgue in Sapele, while the families of the personnel involved are being contacted by their employers.

The NNPC Group Managing Director, Mallam Mele Kyari, expressed his condolences with the families of the bereaved.
