The Lawmakers of the Ondo State House of Assembly have served an impeachment notice to the state Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi who was accused of gross misconduct.
Agboola Ajayi had resigned from the the ruling APC to join the Peoples Democratic Party but insisted on remaining in office.
It was however gathered that 14 lawmakers had supported the impeachment of Ajayi. In a bid to stall any impeachment move, Ajayi had rushed to an Abuja High Court where he filed a request seeking to stop the impeachment proceeding and enforced his fundamental right of association.
Other defendants included in the suit were the Inspector General of Police, State Commissioner Of Police, Department of State Services (DSS) and the Speaker of the National Assembly.
