Paying a visit to the crash site, the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered the immediate conduct of integrity test on the two buildings at No 16B and 14, Salvation Road, Opebi, Ikeja which was affected by the Friday crash of a light helicopter owned to Quorum Aviation Limited.
The ill-fated helicopter has the registration Number of 5N-BQW was reported to be flying from Port-Harcourt to Lagos on Friday, August 28, 2020, at about 12 noon but it crash-landed in the premises of the two buildings en-route Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, had arrived the scene at about 2pm. He gave the direction that an immediate integrity test should be carried out on the affected buildings.
While addressing the newsmen after the assessment, Sanwo-Olu said;
“I was at the site of the helicopter crash at Opebi for an on-the-spot assessment. “We sincerely sympathize with the families of the victims. I met with the residents of the buildings and we all thanked God for His abiding grace.
According to reports from two air traffic controllers, the helicopter was about two minutes away from its destination at the Murtala Muhammed Airport.
