Ikare Traditional Ruler Dies At 85

The traditional ruler of Ikare, the Owa-Ale of Ikare in Akoko North East local government, Oba Samuel Kolapo Adegbite-Adedoyin, has died at the age of 85 after his 48 years reign.

He was reported to have died on Tuesday morning at his palace after a brief illness. Residents of Ikare Akoko were said to have worn mournful looks even though the official announcement of the monarch’s death was yet to be made.

The late Owa-Ale of Ikare was the President of the Ondo State traditional rulers under 130 Crown Obas and member of the State Council of Obas.

According to the Olona of Ikare, High Chief Rafiu Okunade, the official announcement would be made after all the necessary traditional rites have been carried out in line with the community’s norms.
