JUST IN: Protest In Minna Over Power Supply

protesting youths

The youths of Kpakungun area of Minna in Niger state on Monday morning have blocked one of the major roads in Minna, to stage a protest over the incessant power supply.

The vexed youths have also sent away the Secretary to the Niger State Government (SSG), Alhaji Ahmed Matane, who had appealed to them to stop the protest and open up the roads.

They made a demand that the Governor Abubakar Sani –Bello should address them  instead. In their outrage, the youths stated that they’ve had enough of the epileptic power supply, and the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) was taking residents for granted.

The Kpakungun road is one of the most used roads in the state, as it is a major road that leads to the Southern parts of the country.

Motorists, especially those traveling to the south, are at a stand still in the area.
