The heartbroken family of Isiaq Jimoh, the young man who was brutally killed during an #EndSARS protest in Oyo state, could not hold back the pains and anger felt as they called out for justice to be served.
His father, mother, grandfather, and baby mama all spoke about the events leading up to his death. His father explained that he wasn’t protesting but was simply on his way to his mother’s house when officers started firing at the SARS protesters and he was hit.
His mother stated that she had called him to return home immediately as she heard there was a riot . While his baby mama on the other hand narrated how he recently returned to beg her for forgiveness for abandoning her and their baby after she got pregnant.
According to her, he also made the promise to be there for them henceforth as he also apologized to her mother, but as it is now, he didn’t live to fulfill any of his promises.
His grandfather mentioned that the SARS officers are “thieves” and you can’t have a “thief arresting thieves.”
He blamed SARS as the reason for his grandson’s death. He also added that he has no problem with the police because they are needed and they do not cause as much problem as SARS.
