Security: Ogun State Police Arrest Robbery Gang In Military Uniform

The Ogun State Police Command as at yesterday had paraded nine criminal suspects which included a seven-man armed robbery gang who operate in military uniform along the Lagos-Ore-Benin expressway.

The suspects, identified as Ikechukwu Alore, Ifeanyi Emmanuel, Chibueze Kingsley, Obiora Michael, Elias John and Vincent Magnus, were combed out from their different hideouts within and outside by the operatives of the state special Anti – Robbery Squads (SARS).

Paraded with the suspected robbers were two armed herdsmen, who abducted and gang-raped a 16-year-old daughter of a farm settler at Afowowa farm settlement in Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state.

Parading the suspects at the Command headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, said that the arrest of the suspects is proof of the determination made by the command not to give criminals any breathing space in the state.

Ajogun also said that the suspected leader of the seven-man robbery syndicate, Obiora Michael, was traced to his residence in Ajangbadi area of Lagos State on September 17, 2020, where his wife was giving him treatment of the bullet wounds he sustained during a gun duel with the SARS operatives.
