After Initial Recovery From COVID-19, Nigerian Basketball Player Dies Of Heart Attack


A Nigerian basketball player and former Florida State University center, Michael Ojo, had died on Friday after he collapsed during training at Belgrade, Serbia.

According to reports from the Red Star Belgrade, the 27 year old player was taken to a Serbian capital hospital, however, the doctors could not resuscitate him

“The sudden and shocking death has deeply shaken everyone in the club,”

Although he was reported to have tested positive for the coronavirus, but he had recovered from it. His death was caused by a heart attack.

The young chap began his career in 2017 where he played in Serbia. He attended Florida State and as a senior player and averaged 4.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.

However, instead of an NBA career, he signed a contract with Serbian side Kosarkaski klub FMP, commonly known as KK FMP.
